Description
The trees are around 30-50cm in height and is a small-fruited type of lucuma which has a far superior taste to the large-fruited selections. Once ripe, they smell and taste almost identical to butterscotch and have a hokey pokey flavour. The texture is rather dry but still enjoyable eaten fresh, however, trees get so productive that they’ll go well in smoothies, milkshakes, ice-creams, baking…
You will receive a tree very similar to the trees pictured (at least the same size). The first photo shows the mother tree in fruit.
They’re quite cold hardy and will essentially grow where citrus grows (can handle light frosts), though they’re reasonably slow-growing, fruit may be expected in a few more years as the tree is already over a couple years old. My approximately five year-old tree is flowering. They are self-fertile and extremely productive so you only need one.
